How the Mod Matrix works on the PolyBrute

The questionhow does the mod matrix work on the polybrute

The Matrix is a patch bay with no cables. Each row is a modulation source. Each column is a destination you pick. Here it is with one real job: making the filter pulse in time.

39 seconds, no voice. The captions carry every step. The sound follows each move; it isn't recorded from a PolyBrute.
The idea

Rows are sources. Columns are destinations. A button where they cross connects the two.

Before you start

Start from an init patch.

Three steps

  1. Pick a destination: press Mods, hold Assign 4, nudge the Ladder Cutoff, let go.

    0:10
  2. Pick a source: tap D4, where LFO 1 crosses it, then turn Amount.

    0:17
  3. For a pulse in time, press Sync on LFO 1. It locks to the Seq/Arp tempo. Rate then picks the time division.

    0:23

Pick a knob. Pick a source. Join them.

Good to know

The tempo is the Seq/Arp tempo, so the pulse follows the arpeggiator and the sequencer, and an outside clock when Settings / Sync is set to Auto. Other rows connect the same way: pick a destination with an Assign button, then press the button where your source crosses it.
